A Mariamélia é um projecto local, baseado no Porto, que trabalha apenas com pequenos produtores e artesãos portugueses, essencialmente da zona Norte de Portugal. Queremos incentivar um consumo mais consciente e o saber fazer nacional porque acreditamos em objetos honestos e significativos, que duram por muito tempo.
Mariamélia is a personal project, based in Porto, in which I collaborate with a network of local artisans and small producers in northern Portugal in the development of original products and curating traditional handcrafted pieces. I intend to create a conversation about manufacturing in Portugal by developing and choosing significant objects, together with local craftsmen and artisans, who master rare technologies and work on a small scale, often with semi-industrial processes.
